Event Details

IMPACT Garland is a coalition that serves the communities of Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse. Its purpose is to prevent youth substance abuse through innovative resources and media campaigns, one of which is Red Ribbon Week. The theme of this year’s Red Ribbon campaign is “Your Future is Key so Stay Drug Free”.

The Red Ribbon Campaign was created in 1985 as a response to the violence in our communities brought on by drugs. The purpose of Red Ribbon is to raise awareness of the destruction caused by drugs in America and educate our youth on how to lead successful, substance-free lives. The red ribbons worn by community members are a reminder of the difference we can make in our communities through our prevention efforts. The IMPACT Garland Coalition provides educational presentations and activities for students on drug prevention. This year IMPACT Garland is accepting presentation requests for the week of Oct. 23 through Oct. 31.

If your school or organization would like to submit a request for information or presentations for Red Ribbon Week 2017 please contact the IMPACT Garland Coalition Coordinator at (972)-518-1821 or smosby@drugfreegen.org.
