The Leadership Garland Alumni Organization was officially founded in the fall of 2002 following the spring graduation of Class 21. Although many LG alumni had devoted time and efforts to sustaining the Leadership Garland program through participation on the Steering Committee, Prayer Breakfast Committee, or as Class Advisors, prior to that time, there was not an organized program offering continued personal, professional, and civic growth in the community. As the organization has grown and gained momentum, so has the scope of the group. Through projects and programs, the LG alumni maintain an active and influential role in the Garland community.
Purpose
The purpose of the Leadership Garland Alumni group is to connect graduates from all classes and encourage continued involvement in community and leadership activities. The group works to inform fellow alumni concerning current issues in the community, provide social and business networking venues and enable alumni to contribute to social needs through group efforts. As successful graduates of the Leadership Garland program, the alumni group works to inspire each graduate to accept leadership roles within the LG program, strenthening Garland's up and coming leaders.
