Manufacturing Day a Huge Success in Garland, Texas
In honor of National Manufacturing Day on Oct. 3, 2014, the Garland Chamber of Commerce and Dallas County Manufacturers’ Association hosted an Appreciation Breakfast recognizing the significance of manufacturing in the global economy and expressing our gratitude for the positive impact of the industry in Garland, Texas.
The exciting event primarily served as a platform for the local community to honor the work of manufacturing companies in the community. Many local businesses provided gifts and pre-recorded words of appreciation to members of the manufacturing industry in attendance. Royal Catering also made a contribution in the form of a delicious breakfast buffet.
More than 100 local manufacturers, public officials and economic development investors joined the event to hear from keynote speaker William McDade, Senior Vice President of Rapid Continuous Improvement & Capital Planning for Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. His dynamic, results-driven financial and operational experience, including supply chain consolidation and business-wide Lean transformation, gave a fresh, informative perspective to strengthening manufacturing operations.
Mayor Douglas Athas also presented a proclamation officially recognizing the first Friday in October as Manufacturing Day in Garland. This distinction demonstrates the community's great support of the industry that has supported the Garland economy for decades and proclaims the city's commitment to continued support of the industry well into the future.
This event was made possible in part by Preseting Sponsor, Veritex Community Bank, and other supporting sponsors as listed below.
