Christian Ostergaard Awarded ASBC Designation
Garland Chamber staff member Christian Ostergaard** was recently awarded the prestigious ASBC designation through demonstrating proficiency in small business consulting after successfully passing a certification exam.
The Association of Accredited Small Business Consultants (AASBC) is the only international association specializing in training and certification of small to medium sized business consultants. The core training of the AASBC is the SEMP Approach: Simplified Examination to Maximize Profits. The purpose of the SEMP Approach is to provide training in core competencies to improve operational efficiency and maximize profit for small businesses.
Ostergaard's certification arms him with the tools he needs to help clients increase their business's value and profitability through achievable improvements in everyday systems. The added resources and skills Ostergaard acquired through the certification process, and will continue to develop in his role as Small Business Specialist, strengthen the Chamber's impact on the Garland small business community.
As part of the organization's role in the Garland Economic Development Partnership, the Chamber provides guidance and resources to the small business community with the goal of helping them become more sustainable and successful. Programs include Small Business Council workshops, Google's Get Your Business Online, a pilot Small Business Grant, and SBDC Counseling.
