Interstate 635 East Delegation Meets in Garland
As a part of the Garland Chamber of Commerce legislative agenda, proposed Interstate 635 legislation was something the organization monitored closely during the most recent legislative session. Though bills regarding the eastern extension didn't make it to the floor for a vote during session, local elected officials in the Interstate 635 East Legislative Delegation remain diligent about finding a funding solution for the much-needed project.
On June 16, 2015 the Delegation met at Richland College Garland Campus to discuss the project's history, including how it fared in session and what can be done to support the project moving forward. The primary objective of the Delegation is to discuss future options for the funding of the eastern extension.
Delegation members include Senators Bob Hall, Don Huffines and Van Taylor, and Representatives Cindy Burkett, Linda Koop, Kenneth Sheets and Jason Villalba. Representatives from TxDot, the North Central Texas Council of Governments, and others were also in attendance.
