Announcing Our Newest Team Member
The Garland Chamber of Commerce staff is thrilled to announce the newest addition to the Chamber team, Paul Maynard. Paul joins us as our new Economic Development Coordinator and will manage programs involving business retention and workforce development, as well as the Dallas County Manufacturers’ Association.
Paul graduated from the University of Arizona and did graduate studies in Journalism at the University of Nevada in Reno. He comes to us from the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce where he served as the Director of Events and Relationship Management. Paul’s past experience includes working inside marketing organizations, as a vendor-supplier and as an independent consultant. A veteran of Honeywell and Boeing, his client list has included notable names like Hewlett-Packard, Xiotech, Carlson Hotels, Target Corporation, Retalix (a division of NCR Corporation) and a number of businesses that call Garland, Texas home.
In his spare time, Paul enjoys exploring the North Texas region with his beloved terrier, Harry. A self-proclaimed “foodie” and lover of local micro-breweries, Garland-based Lakewood Brewing Co. is one of Paul’s favorite indulgences. Paul also enjoys time with his family. He has two sons and two grandchildren, with one more on the way.
Paul has lived in the Garland area since 2008 and brings a wealth of knowledge from experience in a variety of industries. Widely known as “The Relentless Networker,” he looks forward to building the bridge between existing relationships and new relationships to make Garland’s economy even more robust through his role with the Chamber.
“It has become increasingly important for businesses and educational institutions to work together as we all face the challenge of developing a workforce that will be prepared for the future. I look forward to encouraging the type of two-way learning processes that bring business men and women into classrooms and invite instructors into environments their students will soon face upon graduation.”
We invite you to stop by the Chamber office any time to welcome Paul to our team and hope you will find time to be a resource for him as he develops this new and exciting role.
