Because of Garland’s commitment to Mass Transit (DART) in the DFW area more than 25 years ago, it has never had the right to collect a ½ cent sales tax for economic development efforts unlike many of its competing cities thus private fund raising is paramount to continuing the cause of sustaining our economic prosperity.
