About the Topic

Camille will delve into the topic of sexual harassment, as well as the impact of the me-too movement in the workplace.

Her discussion will include:

  • How to recognize sexual harassment in the workplace.
  • What do you do if you are subject to sexual harassment or witness sexual harassment acts committed against someone else?
  • The rise in the numbers of EEOC claims regarding sexual harassment and a discussion regarding the type of claims.
  • How the Me Too Movement has impacted the workplace. 

About the Speaker

Camille Stearns Miller practices in the areas of labor (labor arbitrations), employment, commercial litigation and educational law. She has also represented public clients in municipal finance litigation, transportation law, general negligence and intentional tort claims.

Ms. Stearns Miller was a partner with an international firm with more than 1,250 lawyers and a long-term partner with minority firms located in Detroit, MI and Dallas, TX. During her tenure in Michigan and Texas, Ms. Stearns Miller has represented a number of Fortune 50 companies in various discrimination cases. 

Throughout the years, Ms. Stearns Miller litigated a number of high profile cases, including: Shawn Garrett v. the Detroit Board of Education; Toni Cato Riggs v. Prudential Insurance Co., et al.; Peter Stenger v. the Detroit Board of Education, t al.; and Keith Butler, et al. v. City of Detroit, et al., just to name a few. 

Ms. Stearns Miller conducts EEO investigations for corporate and government clients. She also conducts HR Training on a plethora of topics including, but not limited to: race and sex discrimination (sexual harassment), religion, national origin, Family Medical Leave Act, American with Disabilities Act and retaliation claims.

Ms. Stearns Miller routinely provides advice and counsel to corporate and governmental entities including school districts regarding topics such as personnel policies and procedures, termination and suspension issues, at will employment issues, teacher contract disputes, reduction in forces, and general questions regarding federal and state discrimination laws.
