Hope's Door New Beginning Center
The mission of Hope’s Door New Beginning Center is to offer intervention and prevention services to individuals and families affected by intimate partner and family violence and to provide education programs that enhance the community’s capacity to respond.
Good Samaritans of Garland
Good Samaritans of Garland, “Good Sam”, was formed in 1983 from an alliance of several Garland faith communities with the intent to provide centrally-located services for neighbors in need of assistance. In 2016, the Board of Directors elected to narrow Good Sam’s assistance to providing food with kindness and compassion to our hungry and food-insecure neighbors living in Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse. Hunger and food-insecurity are closely related, but distinct, concepts. Hunger refers to a physical sensation of discomfort, while food-insecurity refers to a lack of available financial resources for food at the level of the household.
Garland Classic Academy
Through an atmosphere that reflects truth, beauty, and goodness we at Garland Classical Academy strive to educate through a living environment that allows each student to contemplate and engage in conversations about big ideas in the universe and the world around them. We believe in exposing children to great and noble ideas through books that are rich in literary content, hands-on scientific observations , rigorous mathematics, and the enjoyment of learning history, art, music and poetry.
Garland Education Foundation
The Garland ISD Education Foundation was established to support the students and staff of the Garland Independent School District, which encompasses the north Texas communities of Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse. The mission of the foundation is to create and foster partnerships with the community to generate funds that support the education of our students to positively impact the future.
Magic 11th Street
Our nonprofit is mounting a major campaign to fund the new Texas Historical Marker that's been approved to honor Garland's Manuel and Maria Valle Family, the first Latinos to settle in Garland. Our goal is $2,300 to fund the beautiful 27x42-inch historical marker. We are asking the community to contribute and hope that many will to feel a part of this important marker to a family that blazed trails for all Latinos to come in Garland.
