Strong Partnerships and Relevant Knowledge (SPARK) is a quarterly luncheon that hosts a variety of high-profile speakers to engage business and community leaders on current business issues. The event allows professionals from a diverse business community to interact in a relaxed environment and learn more about better business practices or issues facing the Garland community.

Emily will present “Regional Economic Update”, which will include:

  • An update on Texas job growth and unemployment
  • Areas of strength and weakness in the regional economy
  • The outlook for the Texas economy in 2020

About the Speaker

Emily Kerr, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas

Emily Kerr is a senior business economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. As a member of the Research Department's regional group, she conducts research on regional economic issues, coordinates the production of and writes the release for the Dallas Fed's Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey and helps produce the 11th District Beige Book -- the Bank's survey for regional economic conditions. She also produces articles for various bank publications.

Kerr holds a bachelor's degree in economics and an MS in economics from Baylor University.

2020 Partner in Education

Strike + Reel

As part of our partnership with the Garland Independent School District, and with the assistance of our 2020 Partner in Education, Strike + Reel, the Garland Chamber will recognize "Teachers of the Month" at each SPARK luncheon. Between the months of February thru October, the program will recognize up to 14 teachers of the month from the 56 Garland ISD campuses located in Garland.

In advance of the program, the Chamber staff will find the most optimal seating arrangement for you to make connections at the event. Offering pre-assigned seating will help form strong partnerships within our membership, and provide an opportunity to find a referral partner, center of influence, or prospect.

Group Discount
Active Chamber Members in good standing are eligible to receive a group discount when two or more representatives of the member company register to attend a Chamber Luncheon. The first representative will pay the member pre-registration price of $35 and each additional representative added will receive an additional $5 discount. Registrations must be completed in a single online transaction to receive the group discount.

Cancellation Policy
Because of facility requirements, we must charge the full registration amount for reservations not canceled two business days prior to the event. See our fee policy for additional details.
