Meet The Candidates For City Council, GISD Board Of Trustees

Advocacy is at the heart of what we do at the Garland Chamber of Commerce. We advocate for the interests of local businesses, entrepreneurs, and professionals, striving to create an environment conducive to economic growth and prosperity. However, our advocacy efforts extend beyond the realm of commerce; we also champion initiatives that enhance the overall well-being of our city and its residents.

The city election presents a pivotal opportunity for us to influence the direction of our community. By actively participating in the electoral process, we can ensure that our concerns are addressed, our priorities are recognized, and our vision for the future is realized.

But advocacy isn’t just about casting a vote on election day; it’s about engaging with candidates, raising awareness about important issues, and mobilizing our collective strength to effect positive change. Whether it’s through hosting candidate forums, or simply encouraging informed dialogue among our members, there are countless ways in which we can make a difference.

As we approach the upcoming election, let’s recommit ourselves to the principles of advocacy and civic responsibility. Let’s take the time to educate ourselves about the candidates and their platforms, to share our perspectives with others, and to turn out in force on election day. Together, we have the power to shape the future of Garland for the better.

The City of Garland will hold a general election on Saturday, May 4, to elect City Council members for Districts 1, 2, 4 and 5 and to decide on 17 proposed amendments to the City Charter. Residents will also have an opportunity to vote for two seats on Garland ISD’s Board of Trustees.
