Look how quickly summer is just flying by! Already as June passes, we are reminded of the birth of American independence, Fourth of July. As the traditions follows of watching fireworks and having barbeques, we are brought back to the understanding of such a celebration dating back to the 18th century. All around the DFW metroplex, people will be celebrating all weekend long as July 4th falls on a Monday. How will you be spending YOUR 4th of July?

With so many ways to celebrate this weekend, we can’t forget about the events happening in Garland. Starting with Lakewood Brewing Company, Red, White, and Seltz Party on Saturday July 2nd from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Enjoy the first seltzer release party, featuring a HUGE water balloon fight, live music, food from Fryboys and dessert from Scoop n’ Buns. Next enjoy an event of family fun at Firewheel Town Center, Star Spangled Spectacular on July 3rd from 4 to 9:15 p.m. In collaboration with the City of Garland, celebrate Independence Day with food, live music, and a firework show.

It’ll be Red, White, and Blue all weekend long in the DFW area, starting with Independence Day Weekend at the Dallas Arboretum. Meet the birds you may see in your backyard with Window to the Wild on Sunday from 10:30-11:30am on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage and Lawn! Enjoy Buttermilk Junction play traditional songs of frontier Texas at the DeGolyer Pergola on Saturday from 12pm-2pm. Join Hidden Hangar Winery from 2pm –4pm on Sunday July 3rd at the Three Sisters Overlook. Eataly presents a hands-on pasta-making class on July 2nd. July 4th the Singing Zoologist will be back for his educational talk about eagles! Gil’s Elegant Catering offers $4 brownie sundaes, $2 hot dogs, and root beer floats at the Terrace Café all weekend; Kevin the Pie Dude will be selling pies on July 2nd. Next up we have  a free event over at Klyde Warren Park for their Independence Day Celebration on Saturday July 2nd from 7 to 10 p.m. Enjoy a night full of music, family fun activities, and a firework show. And lastly the return of Fair Park Fourth since 2019, on Monday July 4th, from 4:30 to 10 p.m. Fair Park Fourth will feature hands-on activities for kids, local market vendors, live music, entertainment, food trucks, and other concession offerings. And end the night with a spectacular firework show.
