Summer is here! Shorts, sandals, sun and eating out are the best part about summer. Did you know more than 20% of Americans eat out at least once a week at a full-service restaurant? Ferah Tex-Med Kitchen – Firewheel Town Center

Ferah is the newest restaurant in Firewheel. Burak Ozcan is the owner and executive chef. For 15 years, Ozcan dreamed of creating a gourmet experience in an inviting space, and Ferah was born. They are a modern Mediterranean kitchen with a Texan twist. Items on his dinner menu include Greek Gyro Platter, Cowboy Strip Steak, Chicken Shish Kebab, and ask for the Chef’s Inspiration to try something new.

Ferah is located on 690 Beebalm Lane in Firewheel and is now open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday thru Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Blacksmoke BBQ & Grill – Towngate

Joe Gonzales and his son, Joe Gonzales Jr., have a passion for BBQ. They have been cooking together since the '90s and have competed in various pit BBQ competitions. For years, Joe has perfected his recipes that lead to him winning multiple competitions. Blacksmoke has also been recognized by CultureMap Dallas and Hoodline for great BBQ in the Dallas area. “People say that if you live in Texas, you got to know good barbecue and that is all I am trying to bring to my patrons, good Texas BBQ.”

Meats on his menu include brisket, chicken, ham, turkey, ribs, sausage, pulled pork and tri-tip (available only for pre-order). Blacksmoke is located on 2121 W. Northwest Highway Suite 100.

Happy Taco Bar – South Garland

Happy Taco Bar is the newest addition to the Interstate 30 corridor. Owned by Golden Chick, this taco bar brings a new modern twist to tacos with fresh ingredients and more meat options you normally see. They include seafood, pork and veggie tacos with their traditional chicken, fajita and beef tacos.

If you are interested in trying their tacos at no cost, join us for their ribbon cutting June 6 from 3 to 4 p.m. located at 430 E. Interstate 30. See for yourself how happy these tacos can make you.

Tavern on the Square – Downtown Garland

Previously known as State Street Pub, the Tavern on the Square has brought a new look to the old building. John Johnston and his partner Alice have worked together to bring their famous catering food to the table. Some menu items like bacon-wrapped shrimp, margherita flatbread, and the tavern stacker. The Tavern is also one of the few full-service bars in Downtown Garland.

Tavern on the Square is located at 601 W. State St. and are open from 11 a.m. to midnight except for Monday, 4 p.m. midnight.

Herb’s Social – The Mansions at Spring Creek

Herb’s Social is part of the Mansions at Spring Creek in North Garland. They offer live music, happy hours and ladies nights where ladies eat free! Herb’s also has a brunch menu for Saturdays and Sundays that includes the Hangover Burger, biscuits and gravy, breakfast tacos, and their specialty, different types of coffee.

Herb’s Social is located at 6309 N. President George Bush Highway, Suite 8101. They are open for brunch Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For dinner from 4 to 11 p.m. and their Coffee Shop/Gelato bar is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
