Propel Needs Your Help
Last year, the Propel: Young Professionals group of the Garland Chamber of Commerce donated school supplies to Daugherty Elementary School of Garland ISD. With the participation and donations of many of our members, Propel donated teacher baskets and 100 backpacks to students. Thank you to all our members who participated last year by dropping off school supplies, donating funds, or hosting a collection box at your organization!
This year, the Propel Steering Committee wants to go a step further and donate 120 backpacks to Golden Meadows Elementary School. Propel needs your help to fulfill these school supply items:
- 430 – Pink Erasers
- 614 – Elmer’s Glue Sticks
- 294 – Boxes of #2 Pencils
- 44– Yellow Highlighters
- 440 – Black Composition Books
- 120 – Spiral Notebooks
- 120 – Wide Rule Filler Paper
- 31 – Crayola Crayons 24ct
Backpacks and scissors are fulfilled! Thank you to all the members who donated supplies thus far!

Propel is a series of programs dedicated to engaging Garland area young professionals between the ages of 21 and 40 to participate in:
- professional development
activities intended to advance their opportunities for success in business and leadership.
Each quarter, the program offers a professional development event, a networking meet-up, and a service project in the community. All programs are designed and facilitated by young professionals on the Propel Steering Committee.
Propel Steering Committee and members will meet on July 12 from 3 – 5 p.m. to network while volunteering to stuff backpacks for Golden Meadows Elementary. If you are a member of Propel, or a young professional, and want to help stuff backpacks, register below. If you are interested in dropping off donations at the school, please contact Andrea Tamez at (469) 326-7464 or at firstname.lastname@example.org to put you on the list.
